Event Details

A joint report by IFAC and CIPFA which forecasts a rapid acceleration of accrual accounting and international standards adoption. The International Public Sector Financial Accountability Index collects, verifies, and analyzes current financial reporting and budgeting frameworks used by federal and central governments around the world, and also documents future reform plans. The Index currently contains data from 150 jurisdictions, with the intention to update and expand its coverage and depth over time.

IFAC and CIPFA's International Public Sector Financial Accountability Index

Analyzing data captured by IFAC and CIPFA's International Public Sector Financial Accountability Index, this 2018 Status Report analyzes information from 150 jurisdictions across the globe to develop an understanding of public sector financial reporting. The results paint a positive picture for future accrual and adoption efforts globally. Within five years, it is projected that 65% of governments will report on accrual. The greatest opportunities for accrual reform during this time will be across Africa, Asia and Latin America, and the Caribbean.

International Public Sector Financial Accountability Index: 2018 Status Report

The International Public Sector Financial Accountability Index is a joint report produced by IFAC and CIPFA. The report provides a summary of the quality of public financial information and the extent of IPSAS adoption around the world. Data from 150 countries was complied for the report, which will be updated periodically.
